The Cruise on Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas in general was good. Our cabin 3528 was a good size although the bathroom, and certainly the shower could have been bigger. There were no toiletries in the cabin, only given to passengers who had travelled with them many times before. However, when we asked our cabin attendant Bernardo for toiletries we had them immediately. The ship is old and tired looking but we understand it is going into dry dock in May. All the staff were helpful and polite and the food generally good, better at the beginning of the cruise and less expensive dishes towards the end, as were the excursions. The WiFi package was ridiculously expensive and patchy at best so we only had free WiFi onshore and none on the many sea days. On board entertainment was very disappointing and shows were at 6.30 and 8.30 and so being 2nd sitting dinner there was no show for us after dinner. The first formal night of the cruise is meet-the-captain night, but the other two formal nights are just for the passengers to dress up, nothing different happens in the dining room - the menu doesn't change, no decoration on the tables, no special entertainment, so why are there two more formal evenings? Some passengers who have travelled on Radiance before have said that there is much cost cutting going on and it appears that events are only slanted at taking your money. The Customer Service Desk gave little or no information if you wanted to go ashore independently and the shuttle bus services they supplied were much more expensive than local services. The attitude of Royal Caribbean is very money-grabbing and we would not recommend them or wish to use them again.

Cabin Review

Cabin 3528
The cabin was a good size with a large porthole, the bathroom was small with a very small shower. Our cabin attendant, Bernardo, was friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble
