I work at a school, so need to take my vacations during school breaks. This not only makes our cruising more expensive, it also means there are more children on our cruises. We traveled from Boston to Ft. Lauderdale in March, using a wheelchair. I must say that, due to the wheelchair (and not because we are Princess Elite members), we did not have to wait in any lines either in the airport or on/at the ship. We were taken out of every line as soon as we stood in in it, and were whisked along to the front of the line, through security lines, etc. In that way, it was very helpful in dealing with luggage, etc. The only place this didn't help was directly at the door to the port. We did have to sit (or stand) and wait there for the doors to open at around 12. It didn't seem to be a good idea for anyone to have to stand outside in the sun, as it was hot and people seemed to be swooning all around us. Maybe Princess could work something out so that people could sit inside when they arrive earlier in the day than noon?

We are always very happy with our cruises and enjoy them immensely. The ship, cabin, food, service, excursions in general are wonderful. People were very helpful when they saw us coming with the wheelchair - holding the door or the elevator for us. We really enjoyed an aft cabin with a balcony. This location enabled us to quickly and easily get to our dining room, the buffet, the aft pool and the promenade deck with the wheelchair. We did find that the carts in the hallways were a problem, as the wheelchair couldn't fit by them, and everything had to be juggled around for us to get by. But I noticed there were times when they weren't there, so there must be a place to put them, which would be very helpful.

There was also a problem with accessibility on the outside Promenade deck, as we came to a high ramp I couldn't get over, and the passage was actually too narrow to turn the wheelchair around. Surprising on a ship that's only 2 years old!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

Cabin was beautiful, plenty of room, bathroom was fine, closet was big. Aft-facing balcony smaller than we have been used to on older Princess ships. Great view, loved the sound of the water at night.

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

Beautiful beach, great little shops and carts. The water was gorgeous and the tendering went fine.
