We decided to take our 7 kids with us on this trip for their first cruise. The kids activities and the teen club was AMAZING! They had wonderful staff and activities that kept them entertained and always wanting to return. The only negative to the kid's club was that, for some reason, many of the activities that my husband and I wanted to attend together without 3-year-olds i.e. dance classes, bingo, game shows, trivia, etc. all seemed to be during a time when the kids club was closed for lunch and dinner, so we mainly just went to dinner and shows while they were there.
Our room and steward were the worst that I have encountered in 10 years of cruising. When we arrived, the room was covered in stickiness, like someone had been partying in it and spilled drinks everywhere. There were tags that people had ripped off their new clothes thrown around and holes in the linens and dust ruffles on the beds. It looked as if it had not been thoroughly cleaned since the last occupants left. We called housekeeping and they immediately came and cleaned the room. We were constantly finding a card that said that they could not turn down or make up our room because there was a do not disturb sign on the door when we did not put it on there. We had to constantly ask for things like breakfast cards, beach towels, towels, etc. and then we would be told someone would be bringing them right away, but they would never come. It took about 4-5 calls for each item. Overall, this is just not what I expected from housekeeping on a cruise ship.
The food in the main dining room was great. It was better than the last two Norwegian cruises that I had been on. The buffet was ok, but we mainly just went there with the kids. They loved the kids buffet and dining section.
The size and layout of the cabin were pretty average. It does need some updating to the beds and linens, but was otherwise fine.
We are originally from the New Orleans area and did nothing but embark and disembark, but the port was great.
