We had been on a couple Carnival cruises before but have been enjoying Royal Carribean as of late. Now I remember why we weren't cruising with Carnival. We were asked to join some friends on this cruise out of Galveston & I must say from the very first day it was less then impressive. As we were walking up the ramp to join the ship we stopped on the enclosed gangway to take a look at the side of the ship through the windows. Now keep in mind there was absolutely no one behind us or in front of us, we were the only people on the gangway. We were quickly greeted with a "Keep Moving, No Looking" by a cranky old lady sitting at the top of the gangway at the entrance to the ship. Way to to greet your guest Carnival, I appreciate your effort!

Drinks on the ship were very weak... Unfortunately we made the mistake for the very first time of buying the drink card. We have always purchased drinks as we go but thought this time we would try the drink package. Mistake! Seems when you do that you can't ask for a double. Now they advertise over the speakers to just ask for a double for $2 more(which is much needed as the drinks are watered down). Most drinks are $8.75 but with a $2 double that would be .75 over the allowed drink charge included with the card... They will not allow you to just charge that extra .75 to your account they simply say no, you purchased a drink card that's all you can have. Absolutely Stupid...

We had an early flight on debarkation day, so we asked the concierge desk about that a couple nights into the cruise & we were told that as soon as they call Self Assist just go. Soooo that's what we did... Well when we got to Deck 3 to disembark there was a young girl there that was yelling at everyone stating that if you were not a Faster to the Fun & Self Assist then you could not leave. So she is screaming at everyone that they must go to the lounge and sit down, but when you start I to the lounge there is a Phillipino crew member saying if you are Self Assist to go ahead and disembark. So 3 people telling us 3 different things, what a joke. As a business owner myself it's not hard to get your employees on the same page, if they can't get it right then they need to be removed from that position and find someone that can, pretty simple.
