This was my 8th cruise and my first on Carnival. I can say it was exactly what I expected...mediocre. I choose this cruise to spend time with my 17 year old daughter during spring break but was aware of Carnival's reputation of being a family cruise line with modest amenities.

Embarkation was long and tedious. Line after line just to get on the ship. It took another long wait just to get up to our room since only a few elevators working and many out of service. No maps or directory are offered on the ship upon arrival but are available at guest services. Our room was o.k. and functional. The beds were comfortable, bathroom clean and basic. Our cabin steward did not introduce himself on the first day but finally when we were walking on our way down the hall on the second day for dinner and he introduced himself.

Entertainment on the ship I found pretty limited since I don't gamble or drink. The evening shows were o.k. but did enjoy the "Jeff the Juggler". The movies on the deck are fun and current.

Balcony

Cabin 8D

The cabin is located mid-ship. I found it to be perfect since it was just far away from main traffic areas but close enough to stairs and elevators. The balcony is small but enjoyable and overlooks a Jacuzzi on deck 5. Plenty of storage and closet space. The bathroom is small but functional.
