We have always been princess cruisers. Booked a twelve day from Barcelona on NCL Epic. I've read both positive and negative about NCL as well as the Epic.

I liked the size of the shower, and the UDP was a huge plus. Unfortunately there was more we dislike. I never looked to see when Easter was (it was Spring/Easter vacation), and the ship had a huge number of kids who always seemed to be unsupervised. In the U.S. it is rare for Spring vacation to be more than a week but I gather that Europe and Canada that is not the case.

I did not like not having a paid laundry on the ship ($19.95 for a small bag of laundry) and having to make reservation for entertainment made no sense. We paid 30 euros for a port shuttle in one port which I found to be ridiculous.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Small and weird layout. sink in the cabin with a small toilet without a real door. Nice size shower.

Port Reviews

Cartagena (Spain)

OK to walk around on your own

Sardinia

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!! Stay on the ship.

Palermo (Sicily)

OK....nothing special.

Naples

Very nice....shame it rained that day

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Stayed in Civitavecchia....DON'T BOTHER!!!!

Florence (Livorno)

We've been to Florence before....arranged transportation...spent the day on our own.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

You have to pay to get into the city. Walked around and took the shuttle bck to the ship.
