Looking forward to our trip of a lifetime turned into the trip from H___.

After 3 days at sea, we got shut down by a stomach/diarrhea virus for the whole trip. Once we could not serve ourselves due to Code Red, there were not enough people to serve the passengers. Instead of putting individual salt and pepper packages out at a table, we had to sit and wait for servers to salt and pepper our food while our food got cold. The main breakfast/lunch restaurant food was basically the same everyday. Just average. The Compass Rose restaurant, food was just average. Beef was tough and chewy everywhere on the ship. In Prime 7 it was not “prime” beef. The specialty restaurants were better than the other restaurants. All restaurants had a problem with the food not coming out hot.

Other cruise ships offer a casual dining area throughout the afternoon into the evening where you can obtain a sandwich for a quick dinner after you have been touring all day. You had this capability at the pool restaurant but it is closed after 4 pm and are forced to go to the main dining rooms for a long drawn out meal or sit in your room with marginal room service.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Suite

The Class D suites were marginal to say the least. They need drastic updating. The carpeting is in rough shape, the drawers on the furniture do not close properly, the pillows are huge and uncomfortable to sleep on, the curtains and furniture were worn, and outdoor furniture cushions were grimey. Other ships we have had suites on did not have these issues.

Port Reviews

Montevideo

Tour guide decided to "alter" our tour and took us to a dive beer tasting at a factory, that was dirty and a total waste of time. This caused us to only spend 15 minutes at the city market.

Punta Arenas

2.5 hour boring walk through the woods on a trail, saw a waterfall. Ate poor food that was barbequed indoors making a smoky room to eat in. Lamb was tough you could not pull it off the bone. We were served no water after a hot long walk.

Buenos Aires

We skipped this tour as the other ones we went on were so bad. We went into the city on our own. We feel we were not warned well enough on the dangers of Buenos Aires by the cruise director. On a main street we had an attempt at being pick pocketed by having cement water thrown on our backs while another person ran up trying to wipe it off. Luckily he did not get anything. Another passenger was knocked down and had his watch stolen

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego)

a train that took us through the countryside

Puerto Montt

Just an average tour

Santiago (Valparaiso)

Wine tour, could not understand the person giving it
