We had just spent the prior weeks before on a 8 day Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas and with a weekend split boarded the Diamond Princess. What an amazing comparison and the Princess won hands down.
Beautiful ship. Beautiful appointment of the rooms, the public areas, the bars, etc. We felt as if we had left a dingy bar (Royal Carribean) and walked into a wealthy home. Heads above in all ways. The staff were more attentive, better trained, the buffet areas were meticulous, clean and servers constantly keeping tables clean and ready for people. (Only complaint is they took away the salt&pepper shakers and handed out packets. But you had to wait for the packets. Aftering being on Royal Caribbean where the salt/peper/tables were filthy this was a small complaint
We had a small room than the RC Voyager but the room was cleaner, the steward more professional and overall the experience better.
Room was typical for this status. But nicely appointed. Beds were okay. Not great not bad. Shower is very small so be prepared. But the room was very clean and all items seem to work and were appropriately maintained.
This sanctuary is spectacular visit. You walk among the animals. It is small but very well run. Well worth the time.
Excellent tour guide. Lots of good info on the animals, well spaced for time, and nice trip esp. to the kangaroos and You Yangs Park.
We took a cruise excursion to the Unzoo. The guide was excellent but the stops not quite as good and not really worth the money. We stopped at a chocolate factory which wasn't really able to handle the tour group size. Then we stopped at the Unzoo. IT is a VERY small sanctuary trying hard to put on good tourist show. But they are short staffed and have few animals. Not really able to cope with a 50 person bus tour. We were rushed and late at each stop. Princess would be better off setting up a small tour group or touring the old penitentiary instead. Not a very good tour.
