Not knowing exactly what to expect as a first time cruiser, I nevertheless always expect service with a smile, and that's exactly what I experienced aboard Norwegian Sky. Every Norwegian staff I encountered was cordial and helpful. The ship was well maintained, and the stateroom more comfortable than anticipated. The exercise room and staff were very good.
I traveled with my eighteen year old son during Spring Break...he lucked out because there were lots and lots of other college students onboard to hang out with. (I would have welcomed more opportunities to mingle with travelers my age.) However, I enjoyed the entertainment, especially the "Newlywed, Not So Newlywed Show" and other gameshows. Dinners were good to very good while buffets were not bad for the cost. (We did not dine at the specialty restaurants.) A small delivery charge for breakfast in cabin was worth it, and it was worth getting out of bed early for omelets made to order.
Drinks were much too delicious and readily available...the mojitos were superb! The DJs and entertainment staff kept dancers on their feet. I appreciated that various musical genres were featured throughout the ship, and sing-alongs are always fun.
Relatively clean and comfy room for two. Don't forget to pack an electrical outlet extender. You're going to want to tip your steward for fun towel creations and overall fine hospitality!
It was bumpy and exhilirating!
Amazing fish never before seen up close!
A relaxing beach break; just what I needed!
Most fun I had during my vacation! The guides made it so I wasn't too afraid to speed up and enjoy myself. Great fun!
We stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriot (North) next to Miami Airport. We ate Cuban cuisine a block away at Latin Café on 42nd street-yummy! Transportation to dock right from the hotel worked nicely. Hotel accommodated our early arrival when we returned from the cruise. We flew back home next morning. Hotel transports all went smoothly and on time.
