My wife and I took our first cruise on the Norwegian Dawn. To be honest it only took us 35 years of marriage to take a cruise, we often go to the islands but were very nervous with the thought of being a captive audience on a cruise. After reading many reviews we decided on the Norwegian Dawn.
We arrived in New Orleans a day early (stayed at Harrahs New Orleans) to make arrival to the ship a relaxing experience. It was, and I have to tell you that the ship staff made the entire boarding process fast, easy and enjoyable. We got to the port at 100PM and were on the ship by 200PM. Our room was 11612, located midship directly off the elevators. I would highly recommend this room which had a balcony but most important was located one floor below the pool and the garden buffet. Our room had the perfect location!
We unpacked and decided to check the ship out. We were told it was a smaller ship not like some of the newer mega ships but it still seemed large to us. However it only took one tour to figure out where everything was. After a brief safety orientation we disembarked to our first destination, Cozumel. After we got home all of my friends asked which was my favorite part of the cruise. We were lucky, the weather was perfect in all 4 ports. Each day we had a wonderful excursion to a private beach to enjoy our time together,
Best location on the ship. The cabin was in excellent condition. Our steward keep the room refreshed every single time we left. Loved watching sunsets on the balcony.
Love the French Quarter. Must have grilled oysters at Drago's!
Visited Mr Sanchos Resort. The food was suprisingly delicious!
Little French Key is the most beautiful resort in the world.
Had to take a water taxi for a 45 minute trip to Caye Caulker. It was so beautiful but did not have a lot of time to enjoy. Worth every second just seeing it..
visited yaya beach. Was a great location with awesome staff who kept our drinks full and our bellies full. Highly recommend!
