Last month my husband and I did the 10 Mexico Cruise on Grand. We are platinum with Princess and chose this cruise as it was round trip our of San Francisco which eliminated flying. This was my 4th cruise on Grand, I did 30 days in 3-2013, 10 days in 2014 and then 10 days last month. This time, March 16, I chose to cruise alone as my husband wasn't interested in cruising so soon. We have 3 more cruises booked with Princess through June 2017, the last one on Pacific Princess a smaller ship. This being said as I said on my review last month we may not be booking additional cruises with Princess.

Grand Princess needs to spend time in dry dock being updated. We are tired of seeing the terrible waste of paper promoting sales on board, the photo gallery, SPA and the art sales etc etc. Every day, again, my mail box by my cabin was filled with sales ads that I wasn't interested in. I questioned why this waste of paper when my cruise personalizer notes that I am not interested in the art auctions? I question why Princess cant be more ecologically conscious on the use of paper and printer ink. We were tired last cruise as I was this cruise of being harassed for our photos when leaving the ships at Ports or formal nights. Again there seems to be a terrible waste of paper from the unsold over priced photos.

Again, On ship there were always items being sold, bingo cards, the casino, racks of clothes, tables of watches etc. Some passengers might enjoy this but we found it and on the cruise I found it cheapened the feel of the ship and made it seem like a department store rather than a ship.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BF

I am used to a mini-suite but chose the cabin with balcony since I was cruising alone. I found the decor dated and the same as when I cruised the previous times on Grand back to 3 years ago. I found the cabin to be bumpier being more forward than I am used to.

Port Reviews

San Francisco

The best thing about this cruise is the ease of going on and off ship and not having to fly. The new cruise terminal is awesome.

Los Angeles

I walked to the Queen Mary and toured it on my own

San Diego

My tour provider provided a tour to a private exotic animal sanctuary
