We had been on 2 previous cruises with Celebrity & loved the gourmet food but hated the entertainment & onboard activities. Celebrity had no availability on our dates so we thought we'd try NCL. Embarkation in B.A. & disembarkation in Valparaiso were smooth. Our room was ready immediately. The fire drill was intense & thorough. The ship was in great condition considering its age; only showing wear by the outdated decor. We enjoyed having 5 hottubs, basketball court, ping pong, shuffle board & golf cages. The activites offered were fun & age appropriate. We hated the "washy, washy, happy, happy" (is this done on all NCL ships?) & the tender ticket process (expect a one hour line-up to get tickets for the first tenders followed by your ticket being called 30 min. earlier than stated)
Entertainment: The ship singers/dancers were great, enjoyed the hyponotist & the magician (corny but entertaining).
Food: Here is where NCL fell short for us. We ate in every restaurant except for dinner at Moderno & the sushi restaurant. We bought the 5 specialty dining package with our OBC.
Starboard side, convenient & we had a wonderful steward; Roberto. Room was spacious with plenty of room to store our stuff. Spent lots of time on the balcony looking at the beautiful scenery.
Easy place for an independent walking tour.
