We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on Vision of the Seas....Tampa was by far the easiest port we have ever used for embarkation. There was someone right there to help us unload luggage from our taxi and we were inside and onboard in, literally 5 minutes...Granted this was at 3:00 as it was a rainy day so we waited a little longer than usual. We still had plenty of time to look around and were also, conveniently able to get right into our stateroom...Our luggage was delivered in an amazingly fast time....our room attendant knocked a few minutes later and introduced himself and from that point he was very friendly but extremely non intrusive. We did not want for anything at anytime...the room always looked clean and the towels were fresh. I was worried that we would be bored on an older and smaller ship but it actually gave us the opportunity to really enjoy the actual "cruise" experience-dancing, the silly games, the amazing piano bar, the jam-packed trivia games in the Schooner Bar( get there early if you want a seat), the shows, the casino.......The food was your average cruise fare...I am definitely not as impressed as I used to be but I know that is across the board...Gone are the chocolate fountains, midnight buffets, ice sculptures and bowls of cut up berries and bananas every day...*sigh* Having said that, again, the service was outstanding in the dining room...Jeznilk and Reynold were warm, funny and seemed to enjoy what they were doing night after night...That has to be difficult but they made it look effortless...Mother Nature was not kind to the sun worshipers as we had rain in every port except Cozumel....However, plenty of our fellow cruisers seemed perfectly content to curl up in the Solarium (on the really comfy chairs) and read.....It also gave us our first opportunity to stay onboard on a port day-(something we always said we would do but haven't previously) in Honduras. There was plenty of things on the schedule and they even made announcements throughout the day of things they were adding to the day because of the rain...The mid-afternoon full length movie in the Masquerade Theater was a very nice surprise...

I won't waste your time or mine with a hotel review...Bay Harbor Hotel...Just don't....seriously....they were not the least bit concerned with customer service (with the absolute exception of their shuttle drivers who were wonderful). We could barely get them to pay attention to answer our questions-they advertised as being close to the port and having a shuttle that goes there-neither of those things are true....it was $40 for the two of us to get there by taxi which they did not and would not call for us....There's no beach area, there is no one watching the stored luggage-they would not let us into our room even 5 minutes earlier than check in time-conveniently, there were rooms available for a $20 early check-in fee...Just. Don't.......Hmmmm, I guess I did have the energy to review them.....

Vision of the Seas? Two very enthusiastic thumbs up-I would board again tomorrow and probably will board again in the near future......

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this cabin although is very convenient to the Windjammer (that was part of my problem-my frequent trips up there necessitated my need for more stairs. :) Our previous junior suite had a walk-in closet although we didn't need it and had plenty of storage space. If you like to retire early or are a light sleeper, this cabin may not be for you. It's directly below the track and the pool dance floor-depending on the evening festivities, those were both used late into some evenings and there was definite pounding on our ceiling...It didn't last much longer than our bedtimes and didn't really bother us much....
