We had a wonderful time on the Escape. We landed in Miami the night before so we were all fresh and ready to set sail. Arriving at the pier you realize how truly massive this ship is. Wow. Our check in was smooth and easy, the staff were really friendly.
We decided to dine at O'Sheehan's while we waited for our cabins. The service was great and the food was great. I was surprised how good the fish and chips were!
We had a lovely cabin steward, Oka, who always seemed to be on hand to ask how we were, if we needed anything etc. He was truly wonderful and made us feel so welcome. We had two inside rooms towards the aft. At first I was nervous to book inside rooms because I've always had a balcony room but travelling with teens we really needed two bathrooms. I was very impressed and never ever felt uncomfortable. We rarely spend time in the rooms so it worked out great.
we just took the open air bus over to cane garden beach. was a bit of a scary ride for some but the beach was lovely. Lots of room, public bathrooms, chair and umbrella rentals. Nice not to harassed on the beach. Very friendly locals.
We hired a private car and driver who took us on a drive around the island and stopped at the lookouts and points of interest. We enjoyed his company and all his historical information. He then dropped us off at Morningstar beach. Thanks Leroy!!!
Getting on the ship was pretty fast.
