We just got back from the Celebrity Silhouette. We had a great time.

Just a few words about how the classic drink package works. I tried to find out how the package worked before we sailed with not much success. I knew that there is a list of brands that are included in the various packages, but I was wondering what happens if you chose to go over the brands in your package. I thought that you would be charged only the difference in price between the two brands. On the very first hour on the ship we ordered 2 rounds of Patron Tequila and expected to be charged say 2 or 3 dollars for each drink since I was out of the classic package brands. Instead, I found that we owed over $40.00 for the 4 drinks. They charge you the full price of the drink if you go over the classic package.

We were advised that for $10.00 per day per person, we could upgrade to the premium package, but I think this is only available on the first day of sailing. If you know for sure that the brands that you drink are in the classic package (say you are drinking only basically beer all day) the classic would be ok, but if you want to try different drinks or if you want to go to the Martini bar (a popular spot) its probably worth it to upgrade to the premium package and not worry that you will be charged the full price if you make a mistake, as it can build up fast.
