We have sailed on Grandeur two other times. This time I decided to get a Jr suite for our anniversary. That was a mistake. On this ship it was small and the balcony was very small and no lounge chairs, they wouldn't fit anyway. I didn't realize that we didn't get all the perks until months after our deposit. The room steward was fabulous. He gave us excursion tips, spoke to us every time we saw him and got everything we needed. The mar was great and so was most of the food.
The service was wonderful. The dress of most people was lousy. Now I see the people that complain about dress code. I enjoy dressing nice every night. Shorts and Capri pants are not good enough. The entertainment was good could have been better. Grandeur is a small ship and one night they had only one show, wow what a mess. You can't get half the people in the theater and many stood including my husband and we got there early. Many couldn't get in at all.
The adult solarium was nice. The pool could be bigger. The shows or entertainment in Centrum was a joke. No matter when we got there , there were no seats. People sit there for hours and drink and wait for the show. One night I did get a seat and was kicked and stepped on so many times we left. The crew didn't really speak much to us at all. The captain barely spoke even if we spoke to him. The servers everywhere were very nice.
Cabin was too small for a suite. Balcony was tiny. We were hoping for chaises, no.The bed was like a rock but they did give us a pad. Plenty of storage but we did not get a walk in closet but it was a nice closet with drawers. Not much room on one side of the bed by the glass doors. Paint was peeling on balcony and chairs were very small. Tiny ice cream type table. Outlets underneath the cabinets were not easy to use. Hair dryer control had to be held down while it was in use. Nice big mirror and dressing table/desk. Bathroom was ok, do not like the soap pumps. Nice towels and great fluffy robes. Will not do Jr on Grandeur ever again not worth all the extra money.
We had dense fog so we couldn't see as well. The park is beautiful. When we got to the top of Cadillac mountain some fog lifted. It was beautiful. It is a long bus ride.
We boarded here and live nearby. The terminal was big and easy to use. Lots of help.
There really is very little to see or do unless you take a bus or excursion. There are many shops and near the port but very crowded. Must walk on many sidewalks and bricks.
We did some shopping by the port not much too do without using transportation. Seemed very clean.
The bus ride was way too long. Peggy's Cove was very pretty. Not enough time to see everything and no time to shop because they were so busy we couldn't check out. They had spot o pots and drink machine.
