This is my first review ever, after sailing many other lines and being an Emerald Crown & Anchor (RCCL) cruiser for over a decade. We arrived at LAX and were greeted by staff who knew exactly who we were. After a wait for the bus, we headed to the pier. Standard embarkation, except the Princess uses handheld readers to verify ID and cruise card. On board, the cabin was ready (most ships have you wait for your cabin). We dropped off our stuff and headed up to the buffet. Food was decent, and consistently good through the entire cruise (except the scrambled eggs, DON'T EVEN TRY IT!).
Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were great at all venues. The drinks were well done, but if you want better service, ask waiters to get your drink rather than standing at the bar. They will gladly fetch your drinks. Movies Under the Stars would have been nicer if it was not so cold. There were blankets, but the wind was a factor. Only saw the balancing and comedy shows, but both were well done. Dancing venues were fun, with many passengers displaying exceptional skills in ballroom dancing.
Several tours (Yelapa, Salsa and Salsa, and Horseback Riding) were fun and interesting. The breakdancing on the Yelapa tour was unexpected and phenomenal. The salsa making and salsa dancing was caliente, literally and figuratively.
Cabin is the last balcony on the Rivera deck. There was a weird smell, but it was the harbor water, not the cabin. Our steward, Josef, was a nice man who managed to take care of our cabin while being almost invisible. We wanted nothing. There was an issue with being charged for the honor bar, but it was quickly credited.
Great airport transfer and easy embarkation.
Excellent photo ops at waterfall. Boat ride back included amazing breakdancing!
So much fun! The drinking, eating and dancing were all top notch. If you luck out, you'll get Abi and Stephanie.
Lovely view of the unspoiled beach, but the horses were very slow.
