Both good and bad on this new ship; maybe we are just too old.

We booked this 12 Night Anthem cruise with friends of ours. This was only our 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise, the others were on Explorer and Liberty. We have 21 past cruises on Celebrity and are Elite+ so we get Diamond status on RCCL.

We drove the 58 miles from our home to Cape Liberty. Dropping off our bags was a breeze. We parked at thei pier. Paying for parking was a bit slow and we were glad we got there early. Check-in and going through security also only took minutes and then we sat and waited until they started boarding.

Upon boarding we were on Deck 5, we both used the restrooms and walked back to Two 70 where we had some coffee and waited a while longer to eat lunch. They have assorted sandwiches, salads, soup at Cafe Two 70. I have been dying for the Roast Beef Kummelwick Sandwich I have read so much about. We got a bunch of different ones to try and the Kummelwick sandwich is as good as everyone says it is.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D4

Our cabin was one of the higlights of the cruise. I have absolutely not one complaint. The layout was the bed by the sliders to the balcony. It was a great set up and plenty of storage. The nice, new, clean bathroom and shower was awesome.
