This is our second time on board Mariner of the Seas and on the same itinerary exactly one year ago. The reason we took the similar cruise was that we were wowed by our previous experience on board the Mariner. However, sad to say, standards have dropped and furniture onboard were all old and looked outdated.

Embarkation is a total mess, everyone is trying to get on the ship first. However, an observation is that Singaporeans are the ones who are more orderly while the Australians and Malaysians are the ones squeezing to the front even when it is not their turn to board. Big surprise here.

One plus point was that the balcony chairs have been changed and look more modern now. Beds still feel the same and were comfortable. Comfortable enough to sleep soundly, and better than many hotels. A fridge is provided in room and you can ask your attendant to remove the items inside if you wish to use the fridge for other purposes. However, do remember to ask him/her to place everything back on the last day before they check the fridges to see if you have consumed anything from the mini bar.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Nice cabin, attendant was just ok though.

Port Reviews

Kelang (Kuala Lumpur)

We docked as West Port instead as Port Klang was not available. Very far away from city centre and no wifi access at all. Basically an industrial port.

Langkawi

Weather was hot but managed to visit cable car and sky bridge. Plenty of taxis outside waiting for you.

Singapore

Nice city to visit
