Sail Date: Feb 2016

We journeyed from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Santiago, Chile on February 29, 2016, the last trip around Cape Horn for the season on the Star Princess. The cruise was enjoyable, interesting and relaxing.

We arrived in Buenos Aires on the 28th. Upon arrival at the airport, the immigration line was long and then we waited in another line to exchange money (15.2 rate) and then we finally got a taxi through Taxi Ezeiza which we paid for with Argentina Pesos. We had a reservation at the Scala Hotel near San Telmo and they allowed us to check in when we arrived at 10:30 a.m. which was very much appreciated as we were exhausted after the long trip from Massachusetts. We showered and rested for a few hours and then ventured out for a walk to San Telmo to check out the Sunday market on Defensa Street. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed seeing the market, the tango dancers and the street scene. We then had a nice steak dinner at Desnival before returning to the hotel to catch up on some sleep. The next day we left our luggage at the hotel and walked to Plaza de Mayo for some sightseeing. The hotel later called us a taxi to the cruiseport.

The embarkation was a breeze. We arrived around 3 p.m to no lines at all. Once on board we could enter our cabin and our luggage arrived shortly thereafter.
