Background- couple in our late 40's, travelling without kids, on our 12th cruise, first with Princess. ( others were Carnival 2, Norwegian Getaway -1, holland America 2, Celebrity 2, the rest with RC, including independence of the seas and oasis).

Overall, the cruise aboard the Princess has been our favourite to date. The ship is beautiful, clean, well decorated but not over the top. The staff, in our experience seemed content - as opposed to the forced happy you often encounter( and which I can understand, as slaving away on a cruise ship for 9 months can't be great!)

We took in less of the entertainment than normal, but what we did take in we liked. The Piazza area, (akin to some of the centre hall plans on RC ships) was well laid out, and was often a busy dance floor in the evening with more couples than I normally see actually dancing walzes, cha cha, swing, etc... The atmosphere was always relaxed and enjoyable.

Great. Well located handy to concierge room across the hall.

St. Maarten

Rented a jeep for $100- had fun driving over to French side, to beach town Grand Case. Nice to get away from the excursion thing.
