We just returned from our second Disney cruise and loved every minute of it! We flew into Orlando the night before and stayed at the airport Hyatt. This is so easy because we never leave the airport and they have lots of food options you can easily grab and take to your room. We are a family of 4 with girls ages 5 and 8. Our friends also traveled with us with their 6 year old daughter.

The next morning a limo picked us up from the Hyatt. It was cheaper to get a limo with 7 of us from Hyatt to Port Canaveral than 2 town cars. This was quite a treat for the girls. Our driver from Happy Limo stopped at grocery store near Port so we could pick up wine. Disney now only allows you to bring 2 bottle per person (21-years of age). Embarkation was a breeze. We were on the ship by 11:40. Between 10:45 port arrival and 11:40 we checked in and then got the kids their kid club bands. Even though it was our friends 1st Disney Cruise we encouraged them to get in the same check-in line with us and the guy checking us in was nice enough to give them a Lanyard and same boarding group. This was nice since this line was only for Castaway Cay club members (return Disney cruisers).

When we got on the boat we went to get the 2 ticketed meet and greets- Anna/Elsa and Princesses (usually Snow White, Cinderella Rapunzel & Belle). We were able to get one for 10:15 am on Nassau Day and the other for 10 am on Sea Day. While in line we used our Disney App and signed up for the messaging system. I highly recommend this. Basically it uses the ships wifi at no charge and you can message family and friends you are traveling with. This also allows you to see a full list of activities going on each day, ship map and dinner menus. You need to download the app as soon as you get on or before traveling because once it sets sail you will be on very expensive download options.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah (oversized verandah)

Cabin 04E

Spacious and loved the balcony. This one had the pull out couch and pull down bunk. But no Murphy bed. Also liked being only 2 floors below Pool and Cabanas Buffet for breakfast and lunch. We did here kids running down the hallway some mornings but this can happen on any floor.

Port Reviews

Castaway Cay

Awesome Day! Great beach and plenty of chairs. We built sand castles, played in the water and snorkeled. Kids enjoyed kids club on Castaway for about an hour after lunch while we checked out the adult area. No surprise kids had a blast at kids area. The adult area was quiet and we sat on the deck and enjoyed a drink with our friends. So many options on the island. Check them out on the Disney Cruise website.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

I am only reviewing the Disney cruise port building which is spacious and very efficient at getting you checked in and ready to board.
