We always start our cruise with 2-3 days at the Port of call. We stayed at the Embassy Suites hotel in San Juan. Great pool and love the free breakfast and Manager's happy hours each day with drinks/snacks.
I never thought I was a Cruise guy, but I have to say they are a bargain in vacation travel and let you get a good "taste" of a number of places. There is more time involved preparing each day rather than a one stop resort stay, but seeing a number of places in one vacation is also a good experience. This Cruise had five stops: St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Luca, St. Croix, and Granada. We liked Croix and Granada best, but this based solely on their beaches and the available wi-fi services on the beach. We didn't go sight seeing or on excursions, other than on a snorkeling boat trip in Antigua, and instead just chose to relax on the beaches each day. Of course there are also pools and sunning on the ship, but we did little of this choosing the beaches instead.
We always choose a "cheap" cabin and this time had a Promenade window cabin. I just don't see the upside for the cost of a tiny balcony when you can go for a 3rd of the price without one. I would much rather spend that money on excursions or other entertainment. We really where only in our room to shower and sleep and are out having fun otherwise. The room was well organized and things seemed a bit more roomy this time.
Fun trip and worth the price.
Megan's Bay
Nice beach and good wi-fi
Boat trip was fun and worth the price.
Beautiful Island. Water too rough for snorkeling.
Great beach and wi-fi. We recommend Ester's bar service.
