This is about our 12th cruise. We have been in rooms anywhere from inside rooms to a Loft Suite on the Oasis.
Overall we had a great time. But there were some things that really bugged us and they everything to do with getting a suite. We would not have noticed these things if we bought an Inside, Outside, or Balcony room. We were just expecting a lot more for the premium price we paid for a suite.
My ratings would have been higher if we had not opted for a suite. My ratings had to balance my poor experience at Luminae with the great experience in the MDR. Value for money would have been excellent for a non-suite room.
*** Bathtub ***
It was treacherous getting in and out of the tub.
The side of the bathtub was so high that we had to get a step stool in order to use the bathtub (this seemed to be a common complaint because the Butler was very familiar with the problem - and the solution). Because it was a tub, it was narrower than a shower and not flat, making it a lousy shower experience. As a side note, the bathtub was so small that you could only bathe a small child in it - there is no way that an adult could use it as a tub.
*** Closet space ***
As you would expect in a suite, there was plenty of closet space
*** Room layout ***
Plenty of room. It seemed there was a fair amount of wasted space, but that did not affect the utility of the room.
There is a free jitney that takes you from the ship into town. Not that far - certainly within walking distance - but nice on a super hot day or if it is raining really heavy.
Easy getting on and off the ship.
