2nd time in Breakaway(also went in Getaway) not sure why such negative reviews. Husband and I decided to leave from NYC so we didn't have to fly to Florida(live on east coast). Love NYC , went in a day early and so glad we did. Stayed at the Marriot Marquis in Time Square, would recommend Port was a bit busy but not unreasonable. Got to pier at 10:45 was on by noon. Had a spa mini suite. Spa is one of the reasons we were ok with leaving from NY.
Our room was spotless. Best cabin steward ( Madonna) by far in 15 cruise history. Food was great all week. Menu change since our trip in October and all for the positive. I love Howl At the Moon, and this was the best trio yet. Rock of Ages was good as was Burn the floor. Yes, I made all reservations prior, had no issues waiting or with seats. We actually went to Burn the Floor on a different night and no problem getting seats. Food and service in complementary restaurants was really good. We did go to 4 specialty restaraunts, Cagneys is our favorite, Jowel was awesome and food was excellent .We love the thermal spa and spend a lot of time there. Never was too crowded, again no issues.
We got off in Nassau and went to the British Colonial Hilton( book in resort for a day) . This was our 4th time. Can walk from the pier . Use all their facilities. Cost $60 pp bit get a $40 pp voucher for food and drink. Can't beat it. Wasn't busy, very relaxing day and because you can walk, go at your own schedule. Service there was excellent, Omar was fantastic and spot on with the recommended pulled pork sandwich. We had a fun, relaxed yet full vacation.
Liked the cabin location except was loud early in am as they were setting up chairs above on 15 . Our cabin steward, Madonna was so good, that it made up for the early morning noise. The bathroom in the spa mini is really good size.
Went to British Colonial Hilton, highly recommend.
NYC is great no matter what you do!
