Sail Date: Feb 2016

We have just returned from a 35 day trip on Oceana 8th Feb - 14th March.

Prior to setting off we had been advised that our overnight in Charleston was cancelled - no alternative was offered and of course no compensation. This resulted in 9 sea days travelling back across the Atlantic from the USA and 1 day in the Azores. During that crossing the ship developed an engine problem and we actually stopped in the ocean for a couple of hours while engineers fixed the problem. It resulted in slightly reduced speed and this combined with weather and channel issues meant we arrived back in Southampton at 10.35 a.m. and were not off the ship until around 2 p.m.

Our window cabin was small but adequate but the shower room was very small and we did ask if we could change cabins. We were told the ship was full but they would advise us in 3 days if something was available. 10 days later we got a letter saying they were sorry nothing was available. During the cruise however we met people who, for various reasons, had managed to change cabins.

Cabin Review

Adequate but insufficient wardrobe space especially for a 5 week cruise!!
