Recently returned from two weeks caribbean cruise on the Brittania. Firstly the positives of the cruise, the ports of call were all fabulous, free launderette on each deck; lots of bars and well made drinks, at reasonable prices, lots of quiet places to sit inside. And the entertainment was very good but difficult to get seats in the Lounge and theatre after late dinner sitting. . The Glass house: food ; service and drink excellent and not too expensive( very easy as you don't have to book). The cabins were very nice and the balcony was big enough for us, but it was our first time with a balcony so we were happy.
The negatives: the ship lacked the glamour and glitz of other cruises, the food in the dining rooms was not very special and the service was rushed and abrupt at times. The buffet was quite good but I was disappointed that no local resoursed foods were used ie mangos; papya; advocados and local caught seafood.. We found the friendliness of staff varied, some were excellent others indifferent, we thought the crew were better on other cruises we had been on. The ship was too big, and lacked the homely friendly atmosphere of smaller boats, also no wow factor. On sea days the sunbeds all got taken and they are far too close to get on, need to be an acrobat to negotiate. Thank goodness for our balcony. The pool area was very busy most of the time and made using the pool difficult most of the apart from morning port days.
It was our first time on a P & O cruise and we were disappointed but understand the smaller Azura etc maybe more to our liking, so perhaps we may give P & O another chance. The above is our personal experience and we really enjoyed ourselves, but overall I thought the Britannia lacked the wow of a luxury cruise.
We liked our cabin it was big enough for us and very clean, our steward was excellent, always providing clean towels everything refilled like coffee ;tea; shampoo etc. Although balcony was quite small it was adequate and we were able to sit with our feet up on little table. No complaints about the cabin.
We had been on holiday to Antigua, so knew a lot of the Island so we just had a wander in the town again.
We enjoyed wandering around the area loved the shops.
Spent the day on the beach which was close to the dock, very crowded but we were lucky to get beds in the shade.
Took a trolley bus around the local area, lovely trip cost 20 dollars each.

Took a water taxi to the town, very busy but had a look around, then ended up in a lively bar drinking rum punch
Weather quite rough, took water taxi to beach which was an experience in itself as it was so choppy but quite exciting.
