As we rounded sydney cove on the ferry we were in awe of the magnificent Diamond princess for her sheer size. Not 20 minutes later we were in our cabin after a very organized and well executed embarkation. A note in our cabin explained that we would be a fair bit younger than most on this cruise but explained that they had enough going on to keep us amused. The ship is in great condition as it should be having been built in 2004. After some exploring of the ship we departed from magnificent sydney harbor on our 20 night trip to Bangkok. Our stateroom was adequate and our cabin steward was excellent and always willing to stop for a chat.

The food was something i was worried about as reviews prior to my trip were mixed. We found the food to be of excellent standard with probably only one or two average meals in 20 days (Thats not bad). The horizon court provides good food equal to any buffet where we come from. Mostly we just used it for breaky and maybe a late night pick. The themed dining rooms all have the same menu, pacific moon is the pick for mine. Even if you have anytime dining as we did you may find that you begin to like a certain waiter if so you can book that table each night which makes things a little more personal. The food and service in these dining rooms is extraordinary.

Entertainment onboard was fairly average having said that it really isn't our thing. We saw a few shows we liked and a few we didn't. The staff talent show is a must. The casino enjoyed taking our money as i'm sure it will yours. Sports like table tennis are fun and the wife and i both took home a medal won in sea day competitions.
