This was our 3rd cruise with Windstar and had an amazing time! I've been reading the other reviews about the Star Legend and was very curious to see the "complaints" for myself. I read a lot of complaints about the tenders. This would be the only aspect that I would agree with. We used the life boats on previous sailings, so using these tenders gave us more room and less fumes! The negative of these tenders is that the crew didn't seem to understand how to operate them. We were slammed into the dock many times before the tender was secured. This happened both times that we were anchored.

The rest for the positive: We purchased transfers from Windstar from the Barbados airport and had a quick 15-minute drive to the port. Within 5 minutes we were walking up the stairs to the yacht. Check-in was quick as usual and we were escorted to our room by our room steward.

Food was excellent everywhere - Amphora, Candles and the Yacht Club. We purchased the beverage package and had Shirley & Jocelyn making sure that our glasses were always replenished! On one day when our Windstar excursion was late getting back, the manager of Vernada/Candles (Yogi) made sure that lunch was extended until we got back to the yacht.

Ocean View Suite

Cabin S3

Our ocean view room was the largest stateroom we've had in a very long time. The only night we wished that we had a balcony room was when the air conditioning didn't work on the first night. Other reviews will probably mention that this was a huge problem, but we were compensated with shipboard credit and understood that things happen. The air conditioning was fixed by the next afternoon.

The room had a walk-in closet, large bathroom (shower-only) and a very comfortable bed. The small step into the shower was a plus and made the bathroom seem much larger.

Our room steward always had our room cleaned and, had the ice bucket filled and mini-bar replenished.
