February 25 to March 5 on the Navigator of the seas. Embarkation was fairly easy despite leaving from the dreaded terminal 29. Prior to the cruise, I stayed at the Quality Inn airport/cruise port, which was fine with free shuttle service from the airport and to the cruise port, along with free breakfast.
The first three nights was a Bahamas cruise to Nassau and Cocoa Cay. Weather did not allow us to go to the private island, so we ended up in Nassau at 7 PM the evening prior to what was supposed to be an 8 AM arrival the next day. Since I have been to Nassau many times, I only got off the ship for a brief walk, and spent the rest of the time on a less crowded ship. Back in Port Everglades on February 28th for the start of the 6 night western Caribbean.
After everyone else had gotten off the ship, there were about 35 of us doing a consecutive cruise. We walked into the terminal as a group, showed our passports, and were back on the ship in a short amount of time. First port was Grand Cayman, and despite having to get to the island on tender boats, I enjoyed the island very much. I went to Royal Palms beach club, and for a $2.00 entrance fee, you can enjoy the pool, bar and wait service, and access to 7 mile beach. Also enjoyed the shopping at this port.
Stateroom attendant was very efficient, and the rooms were actually a decent size.
Been there many times, and mainly enjoyed time on a less crowded ship
Beautiful island worth taking the time to explore. No one hassling you on the beach to buy something in the area I was at on 7 mile beach.
Cruise terminal area is very nice, but don't recommend going beyond the gates, unless you are taking an organized shore excursion.
Fun coaster with awesome views of the island, and actually an affordable excursion. Zip line looked like a lot of fun, but I did not try it.
