This was our 6th cruise. Our first was on Carnival 26 years ago. We have also cruised Royal Caribbean, NCL and Costa. To start with boarding was an unpleasant experience. It took entirely too long to board. We had a stern cabin with a balcony and had ample space and a comfortable bed. However, the room was so cold we had to sleep with heavy blankets to be comfortable. It took three days to get the engineering staff to fix the thermostat so we could get the temperature above 69 degrees.
We expected more from the food and didn't like having to stand in so many lines to serve ourselves. The meals in the dining room were not well prepared and the Thanksgiving dinner was the worst meal we ever had. We were served one tiny piece of turkey, some kind of mush they called dressing and no cranberries. Ugh!
We went to the Steakhouse one evening and my Filet Mignon was tough. We did like Guy's Burgers and the Pizza was passable. However, considering what we paid for this cruise, The food service was not acceptable.
Great once we had the thermostat fixed.
