This is a fantastic way to get a taste of New Zealand! There was threat of a disruption due to cyclone Winston, so the order of the ports was completely reversed, which initially threw us for a bit of a loop for our private excursions. All the tour companies were able to accommodate the change, thankfully. We were lucky with weather and able to get into the planned Sounds at Fiordland National Park, and generally had great days in all the ports.

The ship itself is showing its age a bit in the cabins, but the public areas are all very nice. This was the first time we had an inside cabin (A740) and it was actually very nice. Lots of mirrors and good lighting made it feel bright and spacious (well as spacious as a cruise ship cabin can be). The location at the back of the ship and one deck below Horizon Court buffet was very convenient. I could easily get outside to see what the weather was like and we only very occasionally heard noise from the deck above us (maybe from dragging a table).

We had anytime dining, but usually ended up at Bernini's at 6:15 because that seemed to be a time when we didn't have to wait for a table. We never really waited more than a few minutes. The food was generally delicious! I was disappointed with the Curtis Stone selections, but always found several other items on the menu which suited me and were very tasty.
