This was about our 45th cruise and it was the worst. We like the small to mid size ships, so the size of the ship was not an issue. We have had many great cruises on the Sun. The issue on this ship was the food and the service. Let's start with the food - The food in both the buffet and the main dining rooms was luke warm at best. I was served multiple meals with cold items. The sneeze guard in the buffet lines made it impossible to reach items in the back and heaven forbid that one of the servers offered to help. There were tongs where there should have been spoons and how about that Kraft salad dressing on the salad bar. What a mess that was.
The Service was no better. The servers behind the buffet would turn away, rather than try to assist someone. The bar service around the pool and at the beer garden was non existent. There were lines (10 to 15 people) at the bars to get service. After the safety drill, when everyone goes to the pool deck for the sail away party, 2 waiters walked around with pre mixed drinks and wouldn't take other orders. I saw only one other waiter. For the next two weeks it was no better. My husband liked a draft beer that was served in Henry' pub and went there rather than drink something he didn't like. One day at 4:15 he was told they were still setting up (the bar opened at 4). At the galaxy bar, on two different occasions) we waited in excess of 20 min. for a server. We never went back. The pool was closed for the 2 sea days on the way back to Cape Canaveral during the first week with no explanation. There were probably 150 kids on the ship. The TV channels were limited. Why have a sports bar with no sports channels?
Entertainment - How long is NCL going to continue with "Elements"? I think I've seen that show 3 times and passed on it another 3. Time for an update. Update the hair dryers too.
The cabin was fine as far as inside cabins go. The cabin steward, although a nice guy, was a little lax. We would throw 2 of the 4 pillows on the floor at night and 2 nights later, they were still there. A used glass also spent a couple of days on the counter.
it was fine
