Overall, this was a great cruise because of the itinerary and lots of friendly passengers! We are frequent cruisers...27 with RCL....have been on most classes of ships, and this was a good size for the itinerary. But as others have said, it was dated, needs a redo of furnishings...especially in some public areas as they were "shabby". Our corridor always smelled unpleasant, our cabin smelled musty and the bathroom smelled like mold. Our cabin was always clean, our steward, Ed, did a good job of bringing us ice, etc. We booked a 10 person table at dinner in the MDR, we (4 of us) were the only ones at the table for the whole cruise. There was a "10" next to us with only 4 people, too. Wish they had put us together! We wanted to meet some fun people! Our wait staff, Franklin and Roi were top-notch, and Head Waiter Sheryl took care of a gift wine snafu, that lasted a few days, for us. We had an issue with one of the shore excursions at Port Douglas....it advertised CapeTribulation as part of the tour. ( The only reason we took that was for Cape Tribulation). Not only did we not get to Cape Tribulation... it was not even MENTIONED! Our tour guide left us ( about 12 of us) with instructions to be on a bus at a certain time. We were early, expecting her to meet us and go back as a group....45 minutes later we decided to get on a bus by ourselves and head back. We were scolded for being late.... she had left everyone when we got there and didn't tell anyone. Needless to say there were other unhappy participants. In contrast, the excursion to the Australia Zoo was fantastic....great guide...we were there for 5 hours, but knew where she was at all times....and she had a head count and graciously handled the lone person who was very late and had to be found on the property and told it was time to leave. We would recommend this over the shorter 3 hour excursion; 5 hours still wasn't enough time to catch the show and see everything. My scuba divers were very impressed with the excursion at Cairns...the dive boat was great, the staff very knowledgeable ( my divers are master & rescue diver qualified) and safe. The dives were fantastic...there were good guides and dive masters...they would recommend this operation to anyone. Food was pretty standard....glad there was a Park Cafe and enjoyed the Brazilian Restaurant... everyone should try it. Overall our service was good...but, as someone else said, the senior staff at the Windjammer really didn't seem to care like the ones on other ships...and that was surprising. We would go on this ship again, but it would not be our first choice....
