this was my 4th time on EPIC and most times I have said this will be the last time , but they have very good deals of late and as I live near Barcelona its a great way to get away for a break. The trouble with offering free drinks package is the greedy people who rush to bar in O'Sheenans and act as if its the last drink they will get. With Epic, unless you have the weather it is a most unsuitable ship for Europe as it has no area outside which is covered over the swimming pools and relaxing area to still enjoy your sea days. As you can imagine the inside of the ship was a total nightmare as all passengers were inside as the weather for most of the cruise was disappointing and raining.

I think if NCL are coming in 2017 to Europe with Getaway they need to rethink the Lido area and get a removable roof like most other companies. The ships staff was very good, helpful and charming, so no complaints there. The food was average , not always warm enough and the buffet a total nightmare. We enjoyed the speciality restaurants, but didn't feel that the price matches the food. Cagneys was the most disappointing with food and customer service. After being on the ship so many times , you would think that I could work out which is the front and back but we used to come out of the cabin and look at each other and say which way! is the front. Next time on a big ship I will take my own stickers which will say front and back. As we had been to the Canaries before 3 times we were not bothered about tours which was good as I think all those that paid such a lot of money didn't see much due to the weather.

I was disappointed with the choreography in Burn the floor, it got better after the first wasted 15 min's. The music was played so loud that the majority of people had there fingers in there ears for the electric guitar music. The stage setting was good , as was Queen of the dessert. The comedian Al Brown was entertaining as was 4ever, but the magician was dreadful. Like a children's performer. We went into the Cavern to watch the Beatles but it was some Pilipino band, not singing Beatles songs at all?? Maybe that was our mistake and didnt' understand that the Cavern was only open once and a while for the Beatles and was shut most of the time for private functions. I'm off on Jade in September and know I shall enjoy the cruise much better on a smaller ship with different entertainment each night.

Cabin BD

Somewhat small, with the separate shower room and toilet and the silly sink in the middle of the bedroom. Plenty of draw space. Stupid rounded off bed where your feet stick out over the bed. Great steward Roberto who looked after us very well and always had a smile on his face and took time to talk to us.
