I have sailed on the two other Freedom Class ships. The ship is in excellent condition and was very clean. RC needs to update the carpeting and the cabin colors and everything would be as new. The service was excellent and the staff appeared to be happy. The cruise director, Ricky Matthews, and his staff kept veryone entertained. There are more than enough thinkgs to do on the ship.
I enjoy the more active items. Completed the rock climing wall and tried the flow rider. Went on the Dreamer catamaran sail in Jamaica. Great activity with lots of sun. In Labadee, Haiti we did the Dragon's breath flight line. This was a blast. Even my scared wife thought it was fun.
We went to Chops Grill for two nights and Giovanni's Table for one. Purchased the three night specialty dining package before we sailed. Both of the restaurants are excellent. The main dining room is ok. Just remember that they are serving thousands of meals each evening and sometimes you need to be patient. We try to skip the Windjammer if we can.
cabin was very clean and provided the basics. This was the first time I had stayed in an inside cabin in years. It was way too smaill. Had to place the table on the couch just to move around in the room. The room steward, Everton, was excellent. He made sure we did not need anything.
the snorkeling was ok, but the sailing, music, sun and rum made an enjoyable day
the zip line was blast. Wish we were able to do this again.
did not spend any time in Ft. Lauderdale. Would not recommend taking the transportation from the airport to terminal from RC. Just take a taxi. We had to wait about 45 minutes at the airport for the bus to arrive for only about a five mile ride.
