We were on the Sunshine the week of February 13th. I read a lot of reviews before boarding and would have agree with most of the reviews. Every now and then you would smell sewage on the ship. Even in the gift shops. The drinking water was horrible and the food was mediocre. The food warmers were not replenished as quickly as they should have been. The management seemed young and unseasoned. I feel as if they were interns waiting to move onto the bigger nicer ships. The water slides, rope course and mini golf were hardly open. The kids wound up overtaking the hot tubs that were not hot at all. The pool area had a DJ during the sea days. It would have been nice to have a band that could spice up the overcrowded lack of deck chair atmosphere. I booked this trip based on the amenities of the ship for the kids but they could not even use them. The icing on the cake was that I had Carnival gift cards that the front desk had to type in and apply MANUALLY to my sail and sign. They told me that one of my gift cards was already used which I thought to be impossible. After coming home and checking the card online (once I had internet), I confirmed that the gift card had $50 on it!!! They miskeyed the gift card code. So now I am stuck with a card that I will never use and they will not credit my bill. The weather was outstanding and the ports of call were breathtaking. This was my 4th Carnival cruise and I do not think we will be back.
