Let me start by saying it has been at least 6 years since I have taken this type of cruise and first time on Celebrity. I have previously been on Royal Caribbean 4 times and enjoyed all of them.
In recent years I have been taking European river cruises and a luxury liner Regent. I totally understand they are different market experiences. I was booked in a Concierge Room only to find out there were no extra amenities except a shoeshine which was not needed. I stopped by the Concierge Desk and the agent was rarely there. There was nothing she could do that I could not get for myself. The canapes were terrible the first couple of days so we did not ask for them after the first 2 days.
I have known about the specialty restaurants which incur surcharges but $90 to $100 per couple is outrageous. The food in the main dining room was mediocre which pushes you to the specialty restaurants. I will say the food at the buffet was outstanding but I did not want most of my meals to be buffet especially during sea days.
No complaints and beds were comfortable.
This was the best part of the trip because we had a friend who lives there and pick us up to dine at one of the local restaurants on the French side. They call them LO LO restaurants which are very casual and inexpensive. Our meal was 10 USD with enough food on 1 plate for 3 meals.
There was a Mexican restaurant next to the port and adjacent to a park which had some good food and drinks for a great price. Docking in Old San Juan is a nice location in which we were able to enjoy getting around on our own
