This was our 3rd cruise w Norwegian in less than 9 month (Epic 4/2015 & Getaway 9/2015), and we were utterly disappointed. We opted for Norwegian after having such great times on the other 2 ships. We vacation roughly every 8 weeks and find cruising the most convenient since we live in FL and have so many ports here. We have never had a poor experience on Princess, Holland, or Viking Cruises.

The Norwegian Star started off w walking into a dirty balcony cabin. Things went downhill from there. Norwegian is advertising quite a bit of "freebies" but in all actuality they are adding charges for nearly everything and have reduced so many on board activities it is pathetic. They are allowing 3rd and 4th passengers to room w the 1st and 2nd passenger free of charge. What this equates to is countless teenager and kids rooming w their parents or grandparents and basically taking over the ship. This ship caters to the elderly and to teens.

If you are wanting upscale nights w a nice dinner and relaxing music and dancing in the evenings, this is NOT the ship for you. There is NO nightlife on this boat. Other than the same show at 7pm and repeated at 9pm, there is not much left to do. They have 2 pianos w no dance floors and bands that basically play instrumental, elevator style music while the elderly are passed out asleep listening to them in chairs. Starting around 9pm, its teen time every night w kids anywhere from 12-18 years old, running wild and sneaking into bars getting drinks then acting out all night and the staff are no where to be seen that are reportedly monitoring these kids.
