Hi, I will start by saying that I got off the ship in Bahamas, and flew back to New York. I have been to five Norwegian Cruises so far. We decided to try the Breakaway for this winter recess since the kids enjoyed the Epic so much in the past. This cruise was like no other that I had before. It was super-crowded, there was people in line for everything, the shows were booked even before we could go on-line to book them. The ¨complementary¨ restaurants had a 45 minutes wait lis (???), we felt like we never left New York anyway.

The water park is nothing special and also super crowded, with annoying parents and grand parents smoking very close. The Atrium and the common areas are smaller than in other ships, like the Epic, or the Down or Spirit. The Casino is just disgusting, it takes the center of the ship and you have to go through it all the Time, and it stinks of cigarette and booze. And it is not even well designed.

The service is five notches below that of the other cruises we have taken. Waiters have a terrible attitude and made us feel unwelcome. The food was not great, as they have changed menus in the Manhattan Room and Taste. Entertainment was also another disappointing experience. Changing the Blue Man group for this High-School quality parody of Rock of Ages is insulting for New Yorkers. The play is insulting, for both theatre and music. They make this the central show, but it is really in no way a Kid friendly play. There is a lot of coarse language and there is a live lap dance!!. Really, they compensate how bad it is by showing a lot of the girls´ skin and making gross jokes (i´m not kidding, at one point -spoiler alert? more like warning- one actor digs his belly button and sucks his finger afterwards...).

Cabin Review

Family Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B2

The cabin was fine, standard like any other balcony. We actually took two rooms connected.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Too short, too expensive, nothing special other than the bus service to get back and forth.
