This was the cruise where we lost our first day due to a storm that held the ship in Ensenada. So our 4-day cruise really became a 3-day cruise as we boarded around 11pm. That made for a REALLY long day first day that, why not Princess' fault, impacted the enjoyment of the cruise. The good new is that Princess did attempt to make us whole, by refunding 25% of the price we paid for the cruise. As usual, the entertainment was outstanding. I love the fact, that there is almost always live music playing somewhere on the ship. And staff with the exception of a couple of grump waiters were also outstanding.
This was my first, and probably last time doing a short cruise, for me the ratio of check-in, embarkation, packing, debarkation time to fun on the cruise time didn't make it seem like a good value. I'll stick to 10+day cruises if I can in the future. I found this ship to feel much more crowded than the Star and the Golden. It has one more deck of cabins and about the same public space and that's apparent at show time and at MUTS.
Hopefully this ship is first in line for the new beds. These beds were really lumpy. This was my first time with the extra large balcony of the caribe deck. It really makes the cabin feel larger, but I didn't use it as much as I expected in the cooler than expected California winter.
