After reading previous reviews, I was worried about this cruise but we had a wonderful time. I can't say enough about the service. Our dining waiters, Norman and Daniel, were excellent as well as our cabin steward Ayu. The food in dining room was very good. Pizza and deli were good also. The rest was good, not fantastic but edible.

The ship was beautiful. I thought it was prettier than the Dream ship. My only complaint was the cabins were small compared to other ships but the bathroom was a nice size.

We loved Cozumel. We took taxi to Paradise Beach. Taxi was $30 for van load and $3 a person at beach. Much better deal than Carnvial has. It was well worth it. Beautiful beach and pool. Progresso was joke of a port. Unless you are going on tour of Mayan ruins, best not even to get off ship. The people were rude in shops. We took bus to downtown Progresso where they drop you off at tent with more stuff to buy. From there you have to take a tour of some kind. I wouldn't feel safe walking anywhere in this place. I dont know why Carnival even stops here. We will never take this cruise again because of Progresso, waste of money.

Small, but clean. We had three in our party which was kinda cramped. Wish box with life jackets in corner wasn't there. Had to climb over it many times.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

I have never been to New Orleans before so it something to see for the first time. I thought Canal Street was pretty and the Riverwalk was nice. Didn't make it to Bourbon Street but did visit French Quarter. From what I saw, don't care to go back. We are a family and some activities are not family friendly on streets.

Cozumel

We went to Paradise Island which was wonderful! We didn't plan through Carnival but went by taxi, much cheaper!! It was not crowded at all and had something for everyone. The food and drinks were good.

Progreso

Did not have a good experience here. The people in shops were rude not to mention in your face trying to sell you cheap stuff. I don't know why Carnival stops here. We will not take this cruise again due to the Progresso stop. There is NOTHING to do if you don't see Mayan ruins or some other tour. I wouldn't feel safe walking these streets alone.
