We usually sail with Carnival and have gone on 10 cruises with them. We received a free cruise from the casino so we accepted. We chose our cruise due to the ports of call, all of which we had never been and really wanting to snorkel in the Caymans. We were told by Customer Service via phone that the amenity that we chose was $25 pp/per port of call off of shore excursions only to find out once we were charged that it was only $25 per cabin credit and even then we got stiffed $25 on our final bill.
Embarkation was wonderful and fast. We boarded the ship with no issues and thought that it was a bit more elegant than Carnival ships. That is until we went to the pool deck. The information says that the boat was refurbished in 2014. The stairs from deck 12 to deck 13 were rotting and part of the stairs actually broke completely off. The metal railings were decaying in spots and the wood railing needed to be refinished badly. Our stateroom was of decent size and laid out better than carnival. The first 2 days were rough due to weather but it was nothing we haven't faced on prior cruises.
Then, we went to the bar! 2 drinks were $25. OUCH!!! and they were very poorly made. Carnival we pay about $15 for 2. Soda was $4. We chose not to spend the $1150 for the unlimited drinks due to the 4 ports of call and we had free drinks in the casino as long as we were spending money. (pretty sure there was some rigged tables as the dealers never had a bust card, EVER)
Good layout and the bathrooms were nice. It was nice to have the mini bar in the room. The beds were comfy>
