We have been on the Liberty 3 times, and have done these Southern ports of call 3 times as well. We did not stay at a hotel the day before, with the ship leaving at 10pm. However do to the SUPERBOWL we left at 11pm so people could watch the entire game. However having the safety drill at Midnight, truly was not a highlight!! But we got through it. It's nice being able to get on and off the ship while docked in Puerto Rico prior to shipping out. And checking in, went quick and smooth.
And our room was ready, when we got on, and our prepaid case of bottle water was in our stateroom. Our room steward welcomed us and explained he clean our room morning and night. We asked for ice and extra pillows and we never ran out of ice in our room. Service was phenomenal as we have come to know with Carnival. Room service in the mornings were always on time, with our Hot coffee and Melon dish. We always use room service in the mornings, as our wake up call and for coffee to start our day.
We had activities booked everyday, so as far as ship activities I can't comment on any. We got back with time to clean up for dinner, after being in the water and sun all day. We seen 1 show after dinner once, that was Ok but that's it, other than that we headed for the rack after dinner for the most part. Were not kids anymore and our day starts early, and the swimming/snorkeling/boating and sun takes it's toll on us, and we loved every minute of it!
Cabin was fine we love our balcony's but knew we were going to be very busy on this cruise! And the $1,000.00 more for a balcony, we went with a inside and took the $1,000. and spent it on beautiful excursions instead! Honestly we got in our room after dinner say 8:30 and went to bed. Room service was knocking at our door at 0630 every morning and we were out of our room by 0730 and got back to our room at 4:30 to clean up for dinner. So we did not see the value with a balcony on this cruise.
Once back from our cruise, we took a city tour do to having a lot of time till our flight. And it was very enjoyable toured the fort and Capitol building, and ate local food. If you have time you'll enjoy this tour.
