We had a group of 8 people from our church on this cruise and all but 1 had cruised before. We had more than 12 cruises as a couple and we were not impressed with this cruise and line. This was our first Norwegian and don't plan to take another unless it is the only option to get somewhere we want to go.
The food was edible but not that great. The free dining option was ok, but a bit a pain to plan with 8 ppl in our group.
The handicapped accessible room we had was nice and roomy, so no problem there, but the others said their restroom was very tiny.
the handicapped room we had was very nice. Plenty of room for the scooter I rented.
Learned that we will never cruise again during the 3-4 weeks before Mardi Gras! Traffic was horendous and with 2 large ships in port at the same time, it was almost impossible to get picked up by our ride. Terrible timing.
we went to the Fiesta or Viva Mexico place and got to do some touring of it before we reached the chocolate making area. It wasn't easy but definitely interesting. We made dark chocolate that isn't sweet and was able to bring it home. will use it in something I make. Then there was a walking tour of some of the attractions then a short video and then the rain dancers (on pole) did their show which was very interesting
had to walk a piece to get to the vans, then a huge step up into the vans, which was very difficult for many of the people on this tour. Do NOT recommend this tour unless someone in the group is using a wheelchair so that they have to provide an accessible bus.
We went a shore and walked around the port stores, shopping and just relaxing.
Nice port area and friendly people. A man with a small booth near a store makes pendants out of Mexican pesos and he researched the college our son is going to and found the right insignia and made the pendant for us in 30 minutes! Very nice job. We stopped at a restaurant for nachos and drinks and the service was great.
