I'm not sure if it was because it was the staff's last week on the cruise, or if that's just how it normally is. The service was non-existent. On the pool deck I had a waiter walk up to me only once the whole cruise, and I ordered a bottle of water and they came back with nothing and told me they were out of bottled waters at that bar. Compared to the Carnival Valor, the Norwegian Dawn treats you like a third class citizen.
The boat was very rocky, the food was abysmal, the service was atrocious, and in-ship entertainment was practically non-existent. I had a broken shower door which kept falling off, and our room attendant just put it back on the tracks, and one of our light bulbs was flashing. They did eventually fix these issues when I brought it to guest services attention. 9 out of 11 in our group got a gastrointestinal illness and had diarrhea for 48+ hours. I can't even begin to list out the absolute laundry list of issues such as our server giving us a hard time for ordering too much food, or the cruise line losing one of our members luggage.
Speaking to people throughout the ship this experience was typical. I am not going to highlight and positive experiences of this trip because they were quickly lost to way worse negative experiences. Do yourself a favor and avoid this cruise line and ship altogether. Next time I'm cruising Royal Caribbean.
Broken shower door, flickering light bulb. Had to call guest services to get them fixed.
It was okay, expensive, especially for our group size and time of year. Bus driver was extremely rude. Would not recommend, but would return in summer if it was cheaper.
