I went with my husband on this unforgettable cruise and we are in our mid-30s. This was my 4th cruise.
We booked our flights to Newark and transfer to port through Royal Caribbean with their Air2Sea program and was I glad we did (will talk about this down below).
We flew down the morning of Feb 6 to Newark and was met by a Royal Caribbean rep as we were coming down the escalator to the baggage claim area. Picked up our luggage and then told to walk down to Door 5 to wait for the bus. The bus arrived about 20 minutes later, we all got on and the bus drove to other terminals to pick up other passengers. The whole trip from waiting to arriving at the port took about 1.5 hours due to the long lines of cars trying to get to the cruise ship terminal. This was around noon time so if you are driving to the port, please expect to be stuck in line at least 30-45 minutes as all vehicles used the same 2 lanes for drop offs and getting to the parking garage. The driving time from Newark to the port should be less than 30 minutes, just lots of waiting around.
Our cabin was located on the starboard side towards the back of the ship. Our bed was closest to the balcony. No lifeboats were below us, there's a smoking area on Deck 5 but didn't really bother us. Our room's location is near a crew door and we could hear people talk in the bathroom (not sure if they were neighbours or crew). Noise level was moderate.
