The cabin was quite nice & the location very good. The window was smaller than I'd imagined & was behind the comfy bed so not easy to see out of. The frame was also discoloured so in worse shape than the rest of the cabin. There was plenty of storage space, a sofa, pay safe & a tv. Our steward was very good in that he had the cabin made up by the time we returned from breakfast which I always appreciate. He left us one towel animal, chocolates each night &  was very friendly when we saw him in the hall.

This was an excursion we looked forward to but it turned out to be a long hot day, almost 12 hours!  Our guide Ramses was very good, the tour interesting & luckily the ship waited for us as we were almost 3 hours late returning since we had to wait for the big ship that was transiting the canal with us.We sat inside on the ferry & were close to the lunch buffet. Water & pop was freely offered & there was also some refreshing fruit pieces available.

The Tortuguero Canal boat ride was very interesting as we saw sloths. monkeys & assorted birds.They served us fresh fruit at the end of the boat ride. The guide was very good as were all the ones we had on this cruise.

Puerto Limon

We toured the exhibits seeing frogs, snakes & butterflies then went on the aerial tram.
This was the only port we had some rain at but I guess that's to be expected in a rainforest! Take a poncho.
The included lunch was very nice, a typical Costa Rican meal in a covered area with w/c facilities & a gift shop neaby.We then had a little lecture by the researcher at the facility.

This was my favourite port. We began by visiting the zoo area at the port before meeting for our our excursion. The park was a nice oasis from the heat of the port area with its trees, cafe & local animals & birds. The tour was very good & the guide informative & helpful. The fort looked very interesting as were the walls. This being Saturday there was a couple of wedding receptions areas set up on the walls & wedding parties being transported in carriages.. The city itself is so beautiful with the old buildings & sculptures both new & old. Juan de la Cruz tried his best to get us into the Cathedral but there was a wedding in progress so we just went up the side aisle. There's a lot to see in Cartagena & I sure hope we make it back there someday.

This was our 1st time on a Thomson ship but a Canadian company was offering a package including air, cruise, transfers & no tipping so we decided to try it as the ports were very appealing.We had a really nice time & I'd be happy to repeat the cruise.
