  3. Royal Princess
Royal Princess is a very nice ship, with some serious design flaws. The lack of a center staircase makes navigating the ship very difficult. On deck 6 you can not go to the Allergo restaurant, you have to go up to deck 7 walk to the back of the ship then go down to deck 6. There are no forward facing lounges where you can see out over the bow of the ship. If you pay extra for the sanctuary you can see over the front of the ship. The gym is small and only accessed on the port starboard side of the ship on deck 17. The back deck on 17 is a large unused space which could be turned into a great evening entertainment space. The Royal princess has a great crew the dining staff is very efficient, they do put a hard sell on the wine tasting and after dinner drinks. Alfrado's is a great free Italian restaurant. I can't believe they don't have a service charge for eating there. Sabatini's and Crown grill are both good but they both have no ambiance. The lighting is very bright and the service is noisy. Very different from Murano or Toscana on Celebrity. The food in the horizon restaurant was very hit and miss, most of the breakfast egg dishes were cold when you got them off the service line. At lunch the lamb gyro meat and grilled vegetables were always hot and excellent. The deserts in the pastry shop were not very good except for the warm chocolate brownies and chocolate pecan pie. They served both the same day. The cookies were always available and good. Entertainment was excellent. Perry Grant was fun as usual, I didn't get to turn the ball on but that is OK. Beatlemania and the two comedians were very funny, and the Princess production staff was talented. Regina and Willis both have great voices, they can really sing. They both will go far. On the islands I went SCUBA diving at all ports except Grenada due to the ship arriving late. We took a tour with KJ tours and really enjoyed it he was a great guide and spent a lot of time showing us his Island. I have heard Princess is adding a center staircase at the refurbishment in Oct. That will help a lot. Overall great cruise just avoid E305 if you have 3 people.

Great itinerary; Royal Princess has hits and misses.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony (obstructed view)
Cabin DW E305
Stateroom allows 3 passengers the Upper bed folds down in front of Balcony door making it unusable. It was a horrible design. When bed was down there was no access to balcony, dressing table, or refrigerator.
