We arrived a couple days before the cruise in Valparaiso, Chile, via Tur Bus from Santiago. Getting to the bus terminal from the airport was fairly easy and we arrived in Valpo with no problems. Valparaiso is a beautiful City, built on hills overlooking the ocean with lots of public art. We had arranged for a guide on-line to show us around the area.
We boarded the ship per our designated time and had a smooth embarkation. The Star Princess is a beautiful, well-maintained Ship. This was our 4th time on the Star and it still seemed like the first! We had a mini-suite on Deck 9 and liked the location midship. Instead of heading up to the Horizon Court, we opted for a quick bite in the International Café, and then unpacked our luggage before drinks and dinner. We also made a call to dining reservations to request a seat at Chef’s Table if they had one during the cruise. We had heard it was incredible and wanted to try it.
We selected late seating (7:45 p.m.) dining in the Amalfi Dining Room. We had a table for 8, but for the duration of the cruise there were 6 of us at the table. The other couple came once and then opted to change to any time dining. We had delightful tablemates, and great Princess staff serving us each night. We really enjoyed ending our day with the group and sharing our stories of how our days went.
Well maintained cabin with plenty of storage space.
